Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
1. Who We Are
LaunchTry is operated by Decods LLC. In this Privacy Policy, "LaunchTry", "we", "us", and "our" mean Decods LLC operating the LaunchTry product discovery, launch submission, promotion, newsletter, and related services.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, where it comes from, why we use it, when we disclose it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you may have. It applies to launchtry.com, LaunchTry accounts, product submissions, paid launch and promotion flows, newsletter features, support messages, and optional connected services made available through LaunchTry.
2. Information We Collect
Account and identity information
We collect information used to create, secure, and manage your account, including your name, username, email address, avatar, profile headline, biography, website, location, social links, account status, authentication provider identifiers, and email verification status.
Authentication information
You may sign in with Google, GitHub, or an email code/link. When you use OAuth, we receive the basic profile information required for sign-in, such as your provider user ID, name, email address, avatar, and access tokens needed to complete authentication. We use Google OAuth scopes for basic identity only: openid, email, and profile. GitHub sign-in uses basic profile and email scopes.
Product, maker, and public listing information
When you submit or edit a product, we collect the product name, website URL, tagline, description, category, pricing type, tags, logo, screenshots, maker details, launch date, LaunchTry badge theme and verification status, duplicate-submission signals, schedule status, promotion status, and related metadata.
Uploads and media
If you upload a logo, screenshot, avatar, or other media, we store the file, generated public URL, file path, and related metadata. Product logos and screenshots are intended to be public once the product page is public.
AI prefill and website analysis
If you use "Prefill with AI", you provide a public product website URL. LaunchTry may fetch publicly available page text and metadata from that website and send relevant excerpts to an AI provider to draft product basics. AI prefill is designed for text-based fields and does not automatically import logos, screenshots, or other product media. You should review and edit all AI-generated suggestions before submitting them.
Badge verification information
LaunchTry requires a verified LaunchTry badge for product submission. Our verification system may fetch the public product website, check whether the badge is present and visible, and store verification status, checked URL, token, timestamp, and related security metadata.
Payments and promotion information
Paid launch and promotion checkout is processed by Stripe. We store payment and promotion records such as package type, amount, currency, payment status, checkout session ID, product reference, launch date, customer email if provided, and payment metadata. We do not store full card numbers or card security codes.
Newsletter, contact, and support information
We collect email addresses and consent records for newsletter subscriptions, sign-in consent, account settings, contact forms, support messages, privacy requests, and related communications.
Usage, device, and security information
We collect technical information needed to operate and protect LaunchTry, such as IP address, browser and device information, request logs, pages viewed, product views, upvotes, saves, referrals, timestamps, session status, error logs, rate-limit signals, and fraud or abuse indicators.
Optional connected services
If LaunchTry makes connected social, auto-posting, or workspace features available and you choose to connect an account, we may collect connected account IDs, handles, tokens, refresh tokens, selected channels, scheduled post content, publishing status, analytics, and error responses from those providers. These features are optional and may be disabled or limited at any time.
3. Sources of Information
We collect personal information from:
- You, when you create an account, submit products, upload media, buy promotions, or contact us.
- OAuth providers such as Google and GitHub when you choose those sign-in methods.
- Payment processors such as Stripe when a checkout session or payment event occurs.
- Public websites that you ask us to analyze for AI prefill or badge verification.
- Your browser, device, and interactions with LaunchTry.
- Connected third-party services, if you choose to enable them.
4. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:

- Create accounts, authenticate users, and prevent unauthorized access.
- Schedule, publish, rank, display, and manage product launches.
- Verify required LaunchTry badges and reduce duplicate or abusive submissions.
- Process paid launch placements, homepage placements, newsletter features, receipts, and payment status.
- Send sign-in codes, transactional emails, receipts, service notices, support replies, and optional newsletters.
- Generate AI-assisted submission drafts when you request AI prefill.
- Display public profiles, maker attribution, product pages, categories, search, and launch rankings.
- Measure product views, saves, upvotes, launch performance, and service health.
- Investigate fraud, abuse, spam, security incidents, policy violations, and illegal activity.
- Comply with tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, and dispute-resolution obligations.
- Improve LaunchTry's design, reliability, performance, documentation, and user experience.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide LaunchTry, accounts, submissions, purchases, support, and requested features.
- Consent: for optional newsletters, optional connected services, and certain AI or marketing features where consent is required.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the service, prevent abuse, improve features, measure performance, protect our rights, and operate a product discovery platform in a way users reasonably expect.
- Legal obligations: to keep records, respond to lawful requests, process tax/accounting obligations, and comply with applicable law.
6. What Becomes Public
LaunchTry is a public launch directory. Product pages, launch dates, logos, screenshots, category, tags, website links, maker names, usernames, avatars, public profile fields, product status once published, upvote counts, view counts, featured status, and promotion labels may be visible publicly. Do not submit confidential, private, regulated, or third-party information unless you have the right to make it public.
7. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:
- Hosting, infrastructure, storage, CDN, and security providers that help us run LaunchTry, store media, serve pages, monitor errors, and protect the platform.
- Stripe for payment processing, checkout, promotion codes, receipts, fraud prevention, disputes, and payment compliance.
- Google and GitHub when you choose OAuth sign-in.
- Email providers to send sign-in codes, service emails, receipts, support replies, and newsletters.
- AI providers when you request AI prefill and we process public website content to draft submission fields.
- Connected service providers if you connect optional social or posting channels.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, auditors, insurers, and security consultants.
- Authorities or third parties when required by law, legal process, fraud prevention, security, or protection of rights.
- Business transfer parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality expectations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used under California privacy law. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of people under 16.
8. AI and Automated Processing
LaunchTry may use AI to draft product submission fields from a public website URL you provide. AI prefill is a productivity tool, not a final decision-maker. You remain responsible for reviewing, correcting, and approving any generated text or selected product metadata before submission. Logos, screenshots, and other launch media are added through the upload flow and should only be provided when you have the right to use them.
Launch scheduling, listing order, duplicate detection, badge checks, spam checks, and ranking signals may use automated rules. These rules help operate the platform, but we may review, override, remove, or correct listings when needed for quality, security, legal, or policy reasons.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and browser storage for essential authentication, OAuth security, saved product state, sidebar preferences for optional workspace features, and service functionality. See our Cookie Policy for details.
10. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law.
- Account information is kept while your account exists.
- Session cookies are designed to last up to 30 days unless you sign out earlier.
- OAuth state cookies are short-lived and expire after about 10 minutes.
- Email sign-in codes and links expire after about 15 minutes.
- Product listings and public maker attribution remain while the listing is active or needed for LaunchTry's directory, archive, SEO, security, or dispute records.
- Payment, promotion, invoice, tax, fraud-prevention, and accounting records may be retained as required for business, legal, tax, chargeback, and audit purposes.
- Security logs, abuse records, and backups are retained for a limited period appropriate to platform security and operational needs.
11. Account Deletion and Data Export
You can export a machine-readable copy of your LaunchTry account data from Settings. You can also delete your account from Settings. Account deletion removes your account, newsletter subscription record for your email, OAuth connections, saved products, votes, comments if any remain in backend records, and certain contact records tied to your email. If you are the only maker on a product, that product may be deleted. If a product has other makers, your maker link may be removed while the listing remains.
Some records may be retained or de-identified where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, tax/accounting records, payment disputes, backups, or to protect the integrity of public launch records.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, know, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, opt out of optional marketing emails, or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing. As stated above, LaunchTry does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use sensitive personal information, if any, only for purposes such as providing the service, securing accounts, processing payments, preventing fraud, and complying with law.
To exercise rights, use the tools in Settings or contact us through the contact form. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may contact us with proof of authority and enough information for us to verify the request.
13. Newsletter and Marketing Emails
When you continue with LaunchTry sign-in or choose newsletter features, you may consent to receive the LaunchTry newsletter and product updates. You can unsubscribe or change this preference in Settings or by using an unsubscribe link when available. Transactional emails, security emails, receipts, and service notices may still be sent when needed to provide LaunchTry.
14. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including HTTPS in production, HttpOnly session cookies, OAuth state checks, webhook signature checks, access controls, log redaction for sensitive headers and secrets, validation of submitted data, and restricted administrative access. No internet service can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so you should use a secure email account, protect access to OAuth providers, and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
15. International Transfers
LaunchTry is operated from the United States and may use service providers in the United States and other countries. If you access LaunchTry from outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards or lawful transfer mechanisms.
16. Children
LaunchTry is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as LaunchTry, laws, or our practices change. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as posting an updated date, adding an in-product notice, or sending an email where appropriate.
18. Contact
